School Structure
School Structure
Where possible, traditional grade groupings are maintained Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 are combined in multi-age groupings consistent with the Victorian Essential Learning Standards design. This structure has resulted in a high level of academic achievement since its introduction fosters desirable social attitudes of tolerance, compassion and cooperation amongst our students.
Much time and careful consideration goes into the decisions related to school organisation. Classes are determined by;
- numbers of students in a given year level
- appropriate gender mix
- social and educational needs
Specialist programs and staff availability are all factored in during this process.
